Achlys
ACHLYS
The latest album currently available is once again a concept album.
The general theme of the album is “grief.”
In recent years, there have been several deaths of friends and family members—or even animals—within the band, demonstrating how traumatic the loss of a beloved creature can be. This, too, is genuine, real horror.
Therefore, Mike looked for texts written by people who wanted to process their traumas through their poems and writings.
Three of the texts used are not based on real experiences, but some were so plausible and emotionally appealing that they found their way onto the album anyway.
These are:
– “Achlys” is the title song and describes the “goddess of grief” and was written by the band.
– "He is dead" was originally written as satire, but over time it evolved into a genuine poem of mourning.
However, the author never wrote it for a specific real person.
– “How can they”, there is no indication of a personal reason for the author, but it reflects what families may feel when they lose a child.
All other lyrics are real horror stories from parents, children, and friends who have lost people who were important to them and their lives.
The band has dedicated this album to all their family members and friends who have passed away in recent years.
RIP Paul Leyting and Markus Fährmann.
